Meet the Fellows

Lizbeth Roldan Garcia

Lizbeth is a recent graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature and Social Welfare. Lizbeth was born in Acatlan Hidalgo, Mexico and migrated to the US at the age of 11. When she was young, Lizbeth lived with her parents for one year, but since then she has been living in different households.

Despite obstacles, Lizbeth never stops smiling and is passionate about serving her community. She has collaborated with people at all levels and across disciplines, including the East Bay Sanctuary Covent, Mexican Consulate, Mission Economy Agency and the Bakersfield School District. Lizbeth in particular enjoys working in these type organizations because they uplift and empower the immigrant community. In the future, Lizbeth strives to obtain a master’s degree either in social work or business.

Lizbeth is placed with Good Samaritan Family Resource Center for the DreamSF Fellowship. She will be assisting Horas Felices, a family support group where she will plan activities that encourage community building that supports families and children. Lizbeth will also be a part of different projects and events that Good Samaritan hosts throughout the year.
