Meet the Fellows

Victoria Escobar

This is some text inside of a div block.

At the age of three, Victoria Escobar came to the United States from El Salvador, settling down in San Jose, CA. Victoria is currently a student at the University of San Francisco, majoring in International Studies with a minor in European Studies.

Victoria has been exposed to many different experiences and many strong role models from a young age. Growing up, Victoria's grandma heavily influenced her in and out of school. Any math problem that Victoria has a question on, her grandma was there to help her. This support from her grandma motivated Victoria to be the first in her family to attend college. After her first year in high school, Victoria’s mom decided to move to Fresno, CA. Victoria began to grow and experience what it was like to be undocumented while attending high school, while finding herself surrounded by a population that saw immigrants as criminals. Experiencing all this propelled Victoria towards her graduation with an understanding and passion to contribute and empower immigrant communities in a meaningful way.

For the DreamSF Fellowship, Victoria was placed with Catholic Charities where she assists with translations, immigration forms, Monday workshops, and anything else that is needed of her. During her free time Victoria loves to play tennis, soccer, spend time with her cousins and grandma making jokes and laughing. Victoria also enjoys exploring new places when she’s in the San Francisco.
