Mariana

Mariana Rodriguez Reboyoso was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. At the age of 6 she migrated to the United States with her mother and brother. They established themselves in San Francisco and have been here ever since. Growing up, Mariana saw how her mother was involved in community organizing for domestic workers rights and immigrant communities. This empowered her to always speak up against injustices and to stay rooted in her communities.

Mariana went on to graduate from the University of California, Davis in 2024 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Sociology with an emphasis in race, ethnicity and immigration. While at UC Davis, she was also in a multicultural sorority Sigma Lambda Gamma Inc. There, she held multiple positions, her favorite being Community Service Chair where she connected her organization with different volunteering events happening around the Davis community. During her last year of college, she was a College Corps fellow, where she supported high school students with schoolwork.

After college, Mariana felt very uncertain about which professional career pathway to pursue. She became an intern for Literacy for Environmental Justice and through this experience she discovered a passion for stewardship and the restoration of native plants while continuing to serve as an educator for youth. She now hopes to build a career that allows her to serve communities through the intersection of education, mental health awareness and environmental justice.

For the DreamSF Fellowship, Mariana is placed at Mission Graduates, where she supports their Parent Partner Program. There, she helps parents with their technology skills, as well as administrative work that is needed in office. She is eager to help parents develop useful tools to support their families while gaining knowledge on how to best support low-income families in navigating education.

During her free time Mariana loves spending time with her cats, family and friends. She also enjoys long walks in nature and listening to music.
