Meet the Fellows

Pablo Jimenez

This is some text inside of a div block.

Pablo Jimenez was born in Mexicali, Baja California Norte, Mexico. Pablo began his migrant story at the age of 5 when he and his family moved to Santa Ana, California. An undocumented student attending the University of California, Berkeley, Pablo studies Social Welfare and Legal Studies.

Through his work with non-profits in Southern California and in the Bay Area, Pablo has developed a great interest in community politics and non-profit management. His experiences have shaped his academic goals of developing a classroom curriculum that both understands and embraces modern immigrant culture. Furthermore, Pablo aspires to do research on grassroots organizing and plans to pursue a master’s degree in public policy, eventually attending law school. Pablo acknowledges the privilege that comes with attending an institution of higher education and is committed to sharing his knowledge with his network of undocumented individuals and communities who deal with financial, physical, and emotional insecurities as immigrants.

Pablo is excited to develop his communication skills and gain experience in the non-profit sector during his time as a DreamSF Fellow. As a DreamSF Fellow, he is working with OneJustice, a legal services nonprofit, on their Pro Bono Justice team. Pablo hopes this experience will serve as an example to his peers of what having DACA means for undocumented youth.
